New Year Let's Focus On Being Well
Leading up to the countdown to midnight, many of us start to think about New Year’s resolutions, goals, intentions or even practices. Whatever we call them, for a lot of people, the new year is a time to reset, recharge, refocus, and reinvent.
Be kind To Your Body
Nowadays so many people's New Year Resolutions are so focused on loosing weight and getting into shape. In fact about one third of the populations resolutions are in fact based on losing weight, exercising more and eating better.
It is important to eat healthy and have a balanced diet. It is equally important to embrace our bodies as they are being body positive and enjoy the food that we eat. It is totally logical to set goals and intentions for your health and fitness because that is what is important to you. But these goals that you are setting should be realistic. Your worth is not determined by the size if your body and your health is definitely not recognised by the numbers on a scale or your body's shape.
Nurture Your Mind
After having going through 2021 and all its foolishness we now know what the "new normal" currently is and how it isn't going no where no time soon it is here to stay. Although something new is always happening where we need to adjust again and even if we did what are we adjusting to? As we are going through all these changes I highly recommend meditation but I am aware that not many people know how to meditate but there are so many things you can do to protect and nourish your mind!
- Practice gratitude
- Pay attention to how much social media and new you consume
- Make a list of the things that you can control on a daily basis and create a plan of action to accomplish those things
Get use to practicing self care
I am a strong believe in making sure you incorporate self care into your daily life, this can expand by meditation, baths, deep breaths and maybe even getting a pet. It is easy to to add it into your daily life as you can set aside an hour each week or even a month to do a to-do list so certain things don't weigh on your mind. It can mean setting aside money to pay off some debts or a credit card bill, or even saving up for that trip that you have been wanting to go on for a good while. Self care is anything you do that will make you absolutely happy within yourself.
